Description
We were approached by TrustFord to investigate a problem with their air conditioning system not heating in their office in Wilmslow. The system was old and parts had become obsolete so the most cost effective & economical solution was to replace the system with new.
This job involved de-commissioning the existing Midea system but utilising the existing refrigerant pipe work and communications cables as all the services were run above a solid ceiling.
Once the gas had been reclaimed, the pipework had to be flushed through with line cleaner and then blown through with nitrogen and adjustments made to the pipe work to suit connections on the new R410a units.
The suspension rods for the indoor unit had to be altered as the new unit was slightly larger than its predecessor.
Once all connections were made, the pipe work needed to be strength tested to 42 bar then pressure tested to 33 bar with Oxygen Free Nitrogen including leak testing flare connections.
After holding its pressure the system was evacuated down to 2 Torr and commissioned involving checking drainage pump, air on/off temperatures in heating and cooling modes and demonstration of the remote controls to the client.
